  • 1/2 green bell pepper diced Brings in a fresh crunch.
  • 1/2 large red onion Provides aromatic depth and sweetness.
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced Adds a punch of flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon garlic seasoning blend For added depth and complexity.
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning To elevate the dish with signature spicy notes.
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes For an extra kick of heat.
  • 1/4 cup beef or chicken broth To deglaze and add richness.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Makes the dish wonderfully creamy.
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese Essential for a cheesy finish.
  • 1/4 cup reserved pasta water To achieve desired sauce consistency.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  • Add the spicy Italian sausage to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula. Cook for about 5 minutes until browned.
  • Stir in the diced red and green bell peppers along with the onion. Sauté until browned and tender, about 8-10 minutes.
  • Add minced garlic, garlic seasoning blend, Cajun seasoning, and crushed red pepper flakes. Cook for an additional minute.
  • Pour in broth and heavy cream, stirring well. Add Parmesan cheese and let simmer for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  • In a separate pot, boil salted water and cook ravioli according to package instructions, reserving a cup of pasta water before draining.
  • Gently fold cooked ravioli into the sauce, adding reserved pasta water as necessary. Simmer on low heat for 10-15 minutes.
  • Serve hot, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese and chopped herbs if desired.

Notes

Adjust spice level and consider using different types of sausage or cheese to vary flavors. For a one-pot wonder, cook ravioli and sauce together.
