Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and diced onions, stirring until beef is browned and onions are translucent.
  • Drain excess fat from the skillet.
  • Lower the heat and stir in ketchup, mustard, salt, and black pepper. Allow the mixture to cool slightly.
  • Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted slightly.

Assembly

  • Place an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface, scoop a spoonful of filling into the center, and roll tightly, tucking in corners.
  • Seal the edges with beaten egg.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a pot or deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry the egg rolls in small batches until golden brown, ensuring not to overcrowd the pot.
  • Remove and let drain on paper towels before serving.

Notes

For a healthier option, try baking the egg rolls at 425°F (220°C) for 10-15 minutes instead of frying. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
