Ingredients

For the breadsticks

  • 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade), soft and pliable
  • 2 tbsp olive oil enhances flavor
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese creamy and stretchy
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese nutty and salty
  • 2 tsp garlic powder adds robust flavor
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning blend of herbs
  • 1/2 tsp salt to highlight flavors
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper for a hint of heat
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional) for presentation

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Transfer the rolled dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Brush the dough with olive oil, then sprinkle garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper evenly over the surface.
  • Distribute the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese on top of the dough.
  • Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut the dough into strips about 1 inch wide.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the edges are golden brown.
  • Once out of the oven, let cool slightly before serving.

Serving

  • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.

Notes

Pair Cheesy Breadsticks beautifully with marinara sauce or garlic butter for dipping. Be cautious not to over-bake to prevent them from becoming dry. Consider using whole wheat dough for healthier options.
