Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
  • Slice each chicken breast in half horizontally to create four cutlets and gently pound each cutlet to a 1/2-inch thickness.
  • Dip each cutlet in milk to absorb moisture, then coat thoroughly with breadcrumbs.

Cooking

  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat and cook the chicken cutlets until golden-brown on both sides.
  • Transfer the cutlets to the prepared baking dish and bake for about 10 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • In the same skillet, sauté garlic for 30 seconds, then add chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  • Stir in heavy whipping cream, reduce heat to low, add Parmesan cheese, basil, and black pepper, and stir until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.

Serving

  • Serve the hot chicken cutlets topped with the creamy basil sauce.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate chicken in milk for 30 minutes before breading. Consider using panko breadcrumbs for a crispier texture.
