Ingredients
  

For the Cake

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour providing structure
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder for deep chocolate flavor

  • 4 large eggs adding richness and helping the cake rise

  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar for rolling cake

For the Filling

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream for a luscious filling
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar to sweeten the whipped cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract for flavoring the cream

For the Topping

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips for a decadent ganache
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream to create the chocolate topping

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 10x15-inch baking sheet with parchment paper, lightly greasing the paper to prevent sticking.
  • In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a separate, larger bowl, beat the eggs along with granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add vanilla extract and vegetable oil to the egg mixture and mix until just combined.
  • Gradually fold in the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until fully incorporated.
  • Spread the batter evenly onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes.
  • While baking, dust a clean kitchen towel with powdered sugar.
  • Once the cake is done, invert it onto the prepared towel and peel off the parchment paper.
  • Starting from one short edge, roll the cake up tightly in the towel. Allow it to cool completely.

Filling & Topping

  • In a chilled mixing bowl, beat together the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  • Heat heavy cream in a small saucepan until it just simmers, then stir in chocolate chips until melted and smooth.
  • Once cooled, carefully unroll the cake and spread the whipped cream filling over the entire surface. Re-roll tightly.
  • Pour the chocolate ganache over the rolled cake, allowing it to drizzle down the sides.
