  • 2 cups all-purpose flour soft and fluffy
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder for a light texture
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt to enhance flavors
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon aromatic and sweet
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar for that perfect sweetness
  • 1 large egg binding everything together
  • 1 cup buttermilk adds moisture and tang
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted and rich
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract adding warmth

Cinnamon Swirl Mixture

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar sweet and crunchy
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon for that classic flavor
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter melted to bind

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan to prevent sticking.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and sugar until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, buttermilk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  • Gently add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  • In a small bowl, combine the sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter for the cinnamon swirl.

Assembly

  • Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Drizzle half of the cinnamon mixture over the batter evenly.
  • Add the remaining batter on top and then drizzle the rest of the cinnamon mixture over.
  • Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the cinnamon mixture into the batter.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes; check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center.
  • Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a more intense cinnamon flavor, consider adding a pinch of nutmeg. Ensure your butter is just melted and not hot. Substitute whole milk or cream for buttermilk for a richer flavor. Optionally, add chopped walnuts, pecans, or raisins.
