Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the diced onion and sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Stir in the minced garlic, then add chopped celery and carrot. Cook until softened.

Cooking

  • Stir in the tomato paste, Old Bay seasoning, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  • Pour in the seafood stock and bring to a gentle simmer. Let simmer for about 10 minutes.
  • Add the crab meat and shrimp, stirring gently. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the shrimp is pink.
  • Lower the heat, stir in the heavy cream and butter, cooking until smooth.
  • For a smoother texture, blend the bisque with an immersion blender to desired consistency.

Serving

  • Serve hot, garnished with chopped herbs or a drizzle of cream.
