Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or silicone mats.
  • In a large bowl, combine softened butter, cream cheese, and granulated sugar. Cream until light and fluffy.
  • Add in the large egg and vanilla extract, beating until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture by folding gently.

Baking

  • Scoop out small portions of dough and roll into 1-inch balls.
  • Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, 2 inches apart, and flatten them slightly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes or until edges turn light golden brown.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Icing

  • Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Add food coloring if desired and mix until the desired shade is achieved.

Decoration

  • Once cookies are completely cooled, spread icing over each cookie and sprinkle with green sugar sprinkles if desired.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for best results. Avoid overmixing to keep cookies tender. Chill dough for 30 minutes for better texture.
