  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast One packet.
  • 1 cup warm water Should feel warm to the touch, not hot.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Plus additional for drizzling.
  • 1 teaspoon sugar To help activate the yeast.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Enhances flavors.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary Finely chopped for an aromatic experience.
  • to taste coarse sea salt For topping.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Combine 1 cup of warm water, 1 teaspoon of sugar, and the packet of active dry yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  • Gently mix in 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 2 1/4 cups of flour, and 1 teaspoon of salt until the dough comes together.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.

Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Punch down the dough and spread it onto a greased baking sheet, creating dimples with your fingers.
  • Drizzle olive oil over the top, then sprinkle with chopped rosemary and coarse sea salt.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  • Allow to cool slightly before slicing.

Notes

Make sure to knead enough to achieve a smooth texture and let the dough rise adequately. Avoid adding too much flour during kneading.
