Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Sift together the almond flour, powdered sugar, and ground spices in a bowl.
  • In a clean bowl, whip the egg whites until foamy and gradually add granulated sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
  • Gently fold the dry ingredients into the meringue, being careful to preserve the bubbles.
  • Pipe small rounds onto a lined baking sheet and tap to release any trapped air.
  • Allow macarons to sit for 30-45 minutes until they form a skin.
  • Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and bake for 14-16 minutes.
  • Let the macarons cool completely on the baking sheet.

Filling Preparation

  • Beat the softened butter, powdered sugar, ground spices, vanilla extract, and heavy cream until smooth.
  • Sandwich the spiced buttercream between two macaron shells.

Caramel Preparation

  • Melt the granulated sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until golden brown.
  • Add butter and stir until combined, then whisk in heavy cream and spices.
  • Drizzle the spiced caramel over the assembled macarons.
