Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your skillet over medium heat and add the beef stew meat. Let it cook undisturbed for a few minutes to develop a golden brown crust.
  • Remove the meat and set it aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and cook slowly, stirring occasionally, until they become golden (about 10-12 minutes).
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.

Cooking

  • Return the seared beef to the skillet, add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and black pepper.
  • Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, cover, and let it cook for about 30 minutes.
  • While the beef is cooking, prepare the egg noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and keep aside.
  • Once the beef is tender, stir in the cooked noodles and top with the shredded Swiss cheese.
  • Cover once more, allowing the cheese to melt.

Serving

  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Cooking the onions slowly enhances their natural sweetness. Properly sear the beef for better flavor. Use low-sodium broth for a healthier option or substitute noodles with whole grain or zucchini noodles.
