Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with colorful cupcake liners.
  • Whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, spices, and salt in a spacious bowl.
  • In another bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add in the molasses, eggs, and vanilla, stirring until fully combined.
  • Gradually alternate adding the dry ingredients and buttermilk into the butter mixture, mixing just until smooth.
  • Divide the batter into the prepared liners, filling them about two-thirds full.

Baking

  • Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Frosting

Notes
