Cooking and Sauce

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For frying meatballs.
  • 1 tablespoon butter For frying meatballs.
  • 4 tablespoons butter For the creamy sauce.
  • 3 tablespoons flour To thicken the sauce.
  • 2 cups beef broth A rich base for the sauce.
  • 1 cup heavy cream For creaminess.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce Adds depth of flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard Enhances flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a medium-sized bowl, combine the ground beef, panko bread crumbs, chopped parsley, allspice, nutmeg, finely chopped onion, garlic powder, pepper, salt, and egg. Mix until well combined.
  • Roll the mixture into 12 large meatballs or 20 smaller ones.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook for 8–10 minutes, turning continuously until browned and cooked through.
  • Transfer the meatballs to a plate and cover with foil to keep warm.

Sauce Preparation

  • In the same skillet, melt 4 tablespoons of butter and whisk in 3 tablespoons of flour until light brown, about 1–2 minutes.
  • Slowly add beef broth and heavy cream, stirring constantly. Add Worcestershire sauce and Dijon mustard, then let simmer until thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Return the meatballs to the skillet, allowing them to simmer in the sauce for an additional 1–2 minutes.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, sauté some mushrooms or add a touch of sour cream to the sauce. Serve with egg noodles or rice, and garnish with parsley.
