Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  • Prepare the white cake mix according to package instructions, then divide the batter evenly between the two pans.

Baking

  • Bake the cakes for 25-30 minutes, checking for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean.
  • Once baked, let the cakes cool in the pans for about 10 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Assembly

  • Spread a thin layer of raspberry preserves on top of one cooled cake layer.
  • Place the second cake layer on top and cover the entire cake with whipped cream cheese frosting.
