Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Pour 2 cups of heavy cream, 1 cup of whole milk, and 3/4 cup of granulated sugar into a medium saucepan.
  • Place it over medium heat and stir occasionally until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is warm, but not boiling.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder with a small amount of the warm milk mixture until smooth.
  • Add the cocoa blend back into the saucepan and stir to combine.
  • Remove from heat, then blend in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1 cup of Baileys Irish Cream.
  • Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature before transferring it to the refrigerator.
  • Chill for at least 2 hours or ideally overnight.

Churning

  • Pour the cooled mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, typically for about 20-25 minutes.
