For the Honey Walnut Sauce

  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise Forms the creamy base.
  • 0.25 cup heavy cream Adds richness.
  • 2 tablespoons honey The star ingredient that adds sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice For a hint of acidity.

For the Glazed Walnuts

  • 1 cup brown sugar Sweetens the walnuts.
  • 1 cup walnuts Crunchy element.
  • 0.5 cup water Used for glazing.

Instructions
 

Prepare the Honey Walnut Sauce

  • In a bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, heavy cream, honey, and lemon juice until smooth. Set aside.

Prepare the Shrimp

  • Peel and devein the shrimp, ensuring they are clean.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk the egg whites until slightly frothy.
  • In another bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, cornstarch, garlic powder, salt, and white pepper.
  • Dip each shrimp into the egg white mixture, then coat with the dry mixture and set aside.

Fry the Shrimp

  • In a large pot, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil to 350°F.
  • Fry the shrimp in small batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per batch.
  • Drain on paper towels.

Prepare the Glazed Walnuts

  • In a saucepan, combine the walnuts, brown sugar, and water. Bring to a boil and cook for about 5 minutes.
  • Strain the walnuts and cool them on parchment paper.

Combine and Garnish

  • In a large bowl, toss the crispy shrimp with the honey walnut sauce until evenly coated.
  • Sprinkle the glazed walnuts and garnish with green onions if desired.

Notes

Fry the shrimp in batches to avoid soggy results. For more zing, add grated lemon zest to the sauce. To make the dish creamier, use more mayonnaise or cream cheese. You can also try different nuts for a variation.
