Filling Ingredients

  • 16 ounces ground beef Brings heartiness to the dish.
  • 1/2 medium onion, sliced For sweetness and crunch.
  • 1 bell pepper sliced Adds color and a slight crunch.
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce For umami flavor.
  • 4 ounces cream cheese Ensures every bite is creamy and smooth.

Cheese Base

  • 2 cups Monterey Jack cheese, shredded Creates a delicious, gooey foundation.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sauté the ground beef, onion, and bell pepper until the vegetables are tender and the beef is browned. Drain excess grease.
  • Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and cream cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste, mixing until the cream cheese is melted and well-blended.
  • On a parchment-lined baking sheet, place the shredded Monterey Jack cheese in 8 even circles, approximately 4 inches in diameter.
  • Bake for about 8 to 10 minutes or until the edges of the cheese start to brown.
  • Allow the cheese to cool slightly, then place a generous layer of the filling on each cheese circle and roll them tightly around the filling. Cool completely before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, incorporate cayenne for spice, fresh herbs, or serve with a low-carb dipping sauce. To make it lighter, use lean turkey or chicken or experiment with different cheeses.
