Ingredients

For the meatballs

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey rich and savory, ensuring tenderness
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs light and fluffy, binding the meatballs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese sharp and nutty, a delicious depth of flavor
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley fresh and vibrant, adding a burst of greenery
  • 1 ea egg binding agent, bringing it all together
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced pungent and aromatic, enhancing the flavor
  • 1 tsp salt to season perfectly
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper a hint of warmth
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning infusing earthiness

For the potatoes

  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced creamy and tender, the perfect companion
  • 2 tbsp olive oil rich and fruity, enhancing dish’s texture
  • 1 tsp garlic powder adding an extra layer of flavor

For the cheese

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese meltingly creamy, offering richness
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese stretchy and gooey, a crowd favorite

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, egg, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  • Mix until well combined; the texture should be thick yet smooth.
  • Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • In another bowl, toss the diced potatoes with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Spread the potatoes on another baking sheet.

Cooking

  • Bake the meatballs for about 20 minutes and the potatoes for around 25-30 minutes until cooked through and golden brown.
  • In a large baking dish, combine the baked meatballs and crispy potatoes.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top, then return the dish to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes, until the cheese melts into a gooey, bubbly masterpiece.

Serving

  • Allow the dish to cool slightly before serving.
  • Consider pairing with a side of fresh salad or roasted vegetables.

Notes

Finely chop the garlic and parsley for better flavor blending. Avoid overmixing meatballs to maintain tenderness. Let the cheese melt until it bubbles invitingly.
