Ingredients
  

Cabbage

  • 1 head green cabbage, cut into 1-inch slices Choose a firm head of cabbage.

Beef Patties

  • 1 lb lean ground beef Substitutes like ground turkey or chicken can be used.
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce (or ketchup)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or Monterey Jack), divided Mix and match cheeses as preferred.
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp red chili pepper flakes For added heat.
  • 1 tsp grated garlic
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped parsley

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Arrange the cabbage slices on a baking sheet and brush lightly with oil. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Roast the cabbage in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes until slightly tender.

Make the Beef Patties

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with grated garlic, chopped green onion, parsley, red chili flakes, half of the shredded cheese, salt, and pepper.
  • Gently mix the ingredients and shape into four patties.

Assemble and Bake

  • Once the cabbage is roasted, remove it from the oven and top each slice with a spoonful of tomato sauce, some of the remaining cheese, and a beef patty.
  • Return the assembled burgers to the oven and bake for an additional 10-12 minutes until the cheese is melted and patties are fully cooked.

Notes

These burgers can be served with a side of salad, sweet potato fries, or grilled vegetables. You can also add toppings like avocado slices or sour cream for added richness.
