  • 1 small onion, finely chopped for that aromatic bite
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced to enhance the flavor
  • 1 tsp salt to season everything perfectly
  • ½ tsp black pepper to add a hint of spice
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika for a smoky depth
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce to elevate the taste
  • 1 large egg (optional) for binding the meat mixture

Cooking Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp olive oil for brushing and moisture

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Prepare the cabbage by slicing it into ½ inch thick rounds. Brush both sides generously with olive oil.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef or turkey with chopped onions, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and the egg (if using). Mix thoroughly.
  • Form patties using the meat mixture that match the size of the cabbage rounds.

Baking

  • Arrange the cabbage burgers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for approximately 25 minutes.
  • After baking, sprinkle cheese over each patty and place under the broiler for an additional 3-5 minutes until the cheese melts.

Serving

  • Once golden, garnish with fresh herbs or your favorite sauce, and serve steaming hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the ground meat mixture for a few hours before cooking. Experiment with spices for different flavors. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 4 days, or frozen for a month.
