  • 1 lb thinly sliced beef steak Choose a cut that is lean and tender.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil Enhances the flavors of sautéed vegetables.
  • 1 medium onion Sliced.
  • 1 large green bell pepper Sliced.
  • 1 large red or yellow bell pepper Sliced.
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce Brings umami flavor to the steak.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder Adds warmth and spice.
  • to taste salt & pepper Essential seasonings.
  • 4 hoagie rolls Soft yet sturdy.
  • 4 slices provolone cheese Creamy and melts beautifully.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until softened and caramelized.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste, then remove the vegetables from the skillet and set aside.

Cooking the Steak

  • In the same skillet, cook the thinly sliced beef steak for 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  • Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Assembling the Hoagies

  • Split the hoagie rolls and place them on a baking sheet. Layer a slice of provolone cheese on each roll, followed by the steak and sautéed peppers and onions.
  • Place the hoagies under the broiler for 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts and bubbles.

Serving

  • Remove the hoagies from the oven and serve immediately, enjoying the vibrant flavors and aromas.

Notes

Toast the hoagie rolls before serving for added crunch. Avoid overcooking the steak for tenderness.
