  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (e.g., Cool Whip) For a light and airy finish.
  • 1 can (15 oz) crushed pineapple, well-drained Adds another layer of tropical goodness to the topping.
  • 1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut (optional) For an extra tropical flair.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure a perfectly baked cake.
  • Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.

Baking

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, three large eggs, vegetable oil, and undrained crushed pineapple. Beat until smooth.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool completely on a wire rack for about 30 minutes.

Topping Preparation

  • In a bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  • Fold in the whipped topping until the mixture is homogenous.
  • Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled cake.
  • Sprinkle the well-drained crushed pineapple over the top, and if desired, add the shredded coconut.

Notes
