  • 1 piece baguette, sliced to perfection For dipping
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For drizzling on baguette slices

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Slice the baguette into 1/4 to 1/2 inch slices and lay them out on a baking sheet.
  • Drizzle the sliced baguette with olive oil.
  • Bake for 5 minutes, flip the slices, then return to the oven for an additional 3 minutes until crispy.
  • Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a medium bowl, combine sour cream, mozzarella, Parmesan, thyme, red pepper flakes, and cayenne pepper, mixing until creamy.
  • Spread this mixture into a small baking dish and layer smoked provolone on top.
  • Bake for about 10 minutes until bubbly.
  • Broil for 1 minute to achieve a golden top.
  • Serve immediately with toasted baguette slices for dipping.

Notes

Consider adding a splash of lemon juice for tang. Experiment with different cheeses and herbs for variations. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
