Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  • In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract until well blended.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

Assembly

  • Scoop a tablespoon of dough, flatten it slightly, and place a small amount of Nutella in the center.
  • Encase the Nutella with the dough and roll it into a smooth ball.
  • Place the cookie dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, ensure your butter and egg are at room temperature. You can also chill the dough for about 30 minutes to help the cookies keep their shape while baking.
