Ingredients
  

Main ingredients

  • 2 steaks steaks (flank or ribeye, sliced thinly against the grain) Choose flank or ribeye for rich flavor.
  • 8 oz pasta (penne or fusilli) Penne or fusilli recommended for texture.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil For sautéing and adding richness.
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce Offers smoky sweetness.
  • 2 tbsp honey Enhances natural sweetness.
  • 1 tsp sriracha or hot sauce Adjust to taste for desired spice.
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped Adds freshness and crunch.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced For depth of flavor.
  • 1/2 cup bell pepper, chopped Provides color and contrast.
  • to taste Salt and pepper For seasoning.
  • fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish (optional) Enhances presentation.

Instructions
 

Cooking the Pasta

  • In a large skillet or pan, bring salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Searing the Steak

  • While the pasta is cooking, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Season the steak slices with salt and pepper and sear them in the hot pan for about 2-3 minutes per side until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

Making the Sauce

  • In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil, and sauté the chopped onion and bell pepper for 3-4 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  • Reduce the heat to medium, and stir in BBQ sauce, honey, and sriracha. Let simmer for about 2 minutes.

Combining Ingredients

  • Add the cooked pasta and seared steak back into the pan and toss until everything is generously coated with the sauce.

Serving

  • Serve the pasta hot, garnished with fresh parsley or cilantro if desired.

Notes

For added flavor, marinate steak in BBQ sauce prior to cooking. Adjust spice with sriracha to taste. Leftovers can be revitalized with additional BBQ sauce when reheating.
