Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or flank steak), thinly sliced
  • 0.5 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 oz noodles (rice noodles or lo mein noodles)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 unit onion, sliced
  • 1 unit bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 2 unit green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions

Cooking the Noodles

  • Cook the noodles according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain and set aside.

Searing the Steak

  • In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced steak and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Cooking the Shrimp

  • In the same skillet, add the peeled and deveined shrimp. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, or until they turn pink and opaque. Remove and set aside with the steak.

Stir-Frying the Vegetables

  • Add another tablespoon of vegetable oil to the skillet. Add the sliced onion, bell pepper, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables have softened.

Combining Noodles and Sauce

  • Add the cooked noodles to the skillet, followed by soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil. Toss everything together to ensure the noodles are evenly coated.

Reintroducing Steak and Shrimp

  • Return the cooked steak and shrimp to the skillet. Mix everything together with the noodles and vegetables, stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes until thoroughly combined.

Seasoning

  • Season your stir-fry with salt and pepper to your liking.

Garnishing and Serving

  • Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

Prep all ingredients before you start cooking for the best results. Consider marinating the steak in soy sauce for 30 minutes for added tenderness. Feel free to customize with additional vegetables or add heat with chili sauce.
