Instructions

Preparation of Onion Rings

  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper together.
  • Dip each onion ring into the buttermilk, allowing it to soak up the moisture, then coat it in the flour mixture.

Cooking the Onion Rings

  • In a deep fryer or large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  • Once hot, gently place the coated onion rings into the oil and fry for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove them and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.

Cooking the Beef Patties

  • While the onion rings are frying, season the beef patties with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • You can grill them on a barbecue or pan-fry in a skillet over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes on each side.
  • In the last minute of cooking, place one slice of each cheese on top of each patty to melt.

Toasting the Buns

  • Lightly toast the hamburger buns in the skillet or on the grill until golden brown and slightly crispy.

Assembling the Burger

  • Place the first cheesy patty on the bottom bun, followed by a layer of fresh lettuce and a slice of tomato.
  • Stack the second patty on top, add another layer of cheese, and repeat once more.
  • Crown with the third patty and top it with crispy onion rings.

Final Touches

  • Spread ketchup and mustard on the top bun before placing it on top of the burger stack.
  • Serve immediately with extra onion rings and crispy fries on the side.

Notes

For an extra flavor burst, consider adding Worcestershire sauce to the beef mixture. Serve onion rings on the side to prevent sogginess.
