Ingredients

For the Ice Cream Base

  • 2 cups heavy cream for a rich and creamy texture
  • 1 cup whole milk that adds a silky smoothness
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar for the perfect amount of sweetness
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract to elevate the flavor
  • 1 pinch salt to balance the sweetness
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips or chunks for bursts of creamy sweetness
  • optional red food coloring for a fun, festive velvet twist

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until the sugar has completely dissolved.
  • If desired, add a few drops of red food coloring and stir to integrate the hue evenly throughout the mix.
  • Cover the bowl and chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

Churning

  • Once chilled, pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • During the last five minutes of churning, add in the white chocolate chips or chunks for even distribution.

Freezing

  • Transfer the churned ice cream into an airtight container, smoothing the top before sealing.
  • Freeze for several hours or until firm. Your Velvet Ice Cream with White Chocolate is now ready to be enjoyed!

Notes

Consider adding crushed cookies, nuts, or berries during the last few minutes of churning for added variety. If you don't have an ice cream maker, freeze the mixture in a sturdy bowl, stirring every 30 minutes for 4-5 hours.
