  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts adding a nutty crunch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice to balance flavors and prevent browning

Instructions

Preparation of the Dressing

  • Using a medium-sized mixing bowl and a handheld mixer set to high speed, beat 1/2 cup of heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form.
  • Gently fold in 1/4 cup of mayonnaise until well incorporated. Set the dressing aside.

Preparation of the Salad

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of diced Granny Smith apples, 1 cup of diced Gala apples, 3/4 cup of finely diced celery, 1/2 cup of halved green grapes, and 1/2 cup of halved red grapes.
  • Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar over the apple mixture.
  • Gently stir the mixture to ensure even coating.
  • Carefully fold the creamy mayonnaise mixture into the apple mixture, being cautious not to mush the apples.
  • Cover and refrigerate the salad for at least 1 hour.

Notes

For an extra touch of flavor, sprinkle cinnamon or nutmeg into the dressing. Use fresh ingredients to elevate the flavor profile. To prevent browning, slice apples just before combining.
